This morning I woke up and it smelled like popcorn in my room. How weird is that? Super. Maybe it's because I am having some serious withdrawals lately since I haven't had it in at least 2 weeks and I wanted it to smell like that delicious corn and so then my brain told me that it did in my sleep. I LOVE popcorn so much. It's a love that I share with my Seester and my great friend Andria. My sister loves it so much that her husband bought her a giant, real life, movie theater, popcorn making machine for her birthday...or Christmas or something of that sort. My friend Andria bought me all the makings for a night of popcorn for my birthday. Movie tickets, popcorn containers, a whole box of popcorn AAAAAAND white cheddar seasoning which really makes the popcorn the best of anything in this wide world. And I feel that you should know that as of late I have quite taken a liking to taking with me, whithersoever I shall go, the aforementioned seasoning in my purse. And you know? not only does doing such a thing save you from bland popcorn (can also be used on eggs, potatoes, veggies, and pasta) on a moments notice, it is also a really great icebreaker. You know, when you're like out and about, and you run into someone you haven't talked to in some time, things are beginning to get awkward, so then you dig through your purse, all on a mission like, as if you're looking for something really important like lip gloss and then lo and behold cheddar seasoning! Well how did that get in there?! BAM! and the conversation is rolling again. Don't ask me how or why, it just works.
However, there is a very very very sad downside to this whole story and that is, my microwave is approximately 67 years old and WILL NOT cook popcorn correctly no matter how much I yell at it. I tried the other day as I was running out the door to see the new Justin Bieber movie, I tried to hurry and make it cook so I could stick in my purse (along with my seasoning) but then, BUT THEN, it would not cook. And I was so sad you would never believe it. But then I went and saw Justin Bieber and he made everything in the world right again. And in the end I still had my cheddar seasoning so life is really not so bad.
You are the best ever! I love this post I can totally see you saying every word. You're such a dain good writer! I think this is my favorite kind of reading I have ever read.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Andrea. SUCH an amazing writer!! I love it so so much! You're amazing and so is Justin Bieber and so is white cheddar popcorn seasoning.
ReplyDeleteTrue Story: I used to spend half my summer on my grandpa's popcorn farm. It was pretty much awesome, and full of popcorn.
ReplyDeleteRachel! How did I not know you had a blog until now? Consider yourself blog stalked.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I absolutely love the content of this post. Hi, my name is Karen, and I am a popcorn addict. I lasted about 4 weeks in London before I determined it to be absolutely and positively necessary that I purchase a hot air popper. And don't worry, when I go to the movies, I pop my popcorn at home and sneak it in. Although I'm really going to look into this white cheddar flavoring business. Great tip, great tip.
Heart you, miss you.
