A very wise woman once wrote to me these very words: "Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." -Disney to the Walt aka: my hero
And ever since my eyes beheld those words (it was really only about 3 minutes ago) my life was changed. And the following are the reasons as to why:
Did you know that Walt was fired by a newspaper editor because he "lacked imagination and had no good ideas?"
Did you know that he went bankrupt and came oh so very close to it several other times before his park was built?
Did you know that his park plans were rejected by the city of Anaheim on account that it would only attract "riffraff?"
Did you know that when Lucille Ball first started studying to be an actress she was told by the head instructor to "try any other profession?"
Did you know that Albert Einstein could not speak until he was 4-years-old, could not read until he was 7 and was described by his teachers as "mentally slow?"
Did you know that Thomas Edison had to try thousands of different ways before the lightbulb was a success?
And did you also know that when asked how he felt about his 'failures', his response was this:
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that it won't work."
There is not a single great person in this whole big world that did not get to where they are without encountering a few blocks in their road. For those blocks are the things that really make us great anyway aren't they?
The answer is yes. just as long as we don't give up.
just keep moving forward with your head held high
for where there is hope, a wonderful future will lie.
And that is the truth.
"So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed) Kid, You'll Move Mountains." -The Seuss
Love the info on Walt Disney. Being a native FL girl, it's great to see what a great man started the obsession of Disney. :) Thanks for sharing!
